A solo-developed design-centric project that focuses on slow paced traversal in open-world video games. It inspects gameplay systems that encourage the player to engage with and investigate the world narratively, whilst simultaneously traversing it.

 

Crossword puzzles and companion conversations replace combat encounters as you traverse an island, both to trade and to deliver your cheerful companion to his destination at the top of the island.

 

This was created for as my Honours Project at Abertay University during my studies as a fourth year student.

It was created in around two and a quarter months of development time utilising Unreal Engine 5.
